"You are my today and all of my tomorrows." -Leo Christopher
This winter couple session in Logan Utah was such a dream!! The snow made things a little difficult but it sure made for a beautiful backdrop. I love how pictures in the snow literally seem to freeze time and moments. Frozen precious moments that are amazing! Lauren and Chris have this super sweet relationship and I feel so privileged to have met them and been able to help capture it! Lauren and Chris seemed like they were newlyweds and I had know idea until they told me they just celebrated their year and a half anniversary this month! So exciting! The snow did not bother these two one bit! They hardly even noticed it and as soon as we got started they quickly took of their jackets and were ready to go. I felt so bad and said, "Are you sure you don't want your jackets on?!" And Lauren and Chris both said, "Nope, we are good!" It helps that they are both from Utah and used to the cold! I felt like such a desert sun loving sissy being in the cold snowy weather. Maybe one of these days I will get used to it as I wake up every morning and wonder what the white stuff is outside!! I loved how giggly and happy these two were around each other. Brian was so sweet and gentle with Lauren and it was not hard to tell his love for her. Lauren and Chris were willing to do whatever I said and were super relaxed and comfortable while we were taking pictures. I hope all of my brides come back to me if that are able to have anniversary sessions and still look at each other like these two do. :)

I have been dying to share this couple's adorable love story and pictures! Mayra and me had planned their engagement session for quite some time and we both had our fingers crossed for good weather! Thank goodness it was not snowing, but we all did still freeze with the temperature was 16 degrees and dropping during the session. Mayra's wanted pretty trees with snow which it is a good thing it is not too hard to come by in Logan Utah! I love how their pictures turned out and I smile so big while looking back at them!!
I had so much fun with Mayra and Mauricio during their engagement session. Their sweet smiles and giggles made the cold bearable and they hardly minded it! Mayra and Mauricio both live in Richmond Utah but their story starts almost worlds apart while Mauricio lived in Chile and Mayra lived in Mexico. For college, Mauricio came to Utah State University because his uncle taught there and went through the English program. Meanwhile Mayra was attending Brigham Young University in Provo. Their paths crossed when they both joined a Latin dance group that traveled where they met and the rest is history! Mayra and Mauricio dated for one year and recently got engaged the weekend of last Thanksgiving. It was not hard to tell their excitement to get married to each other. They are getting married at the end of March and I am also counting down the days because I cannot wait to be apart of their special day! “Little girls leave a little sparkle wherever they go.” When I heard the second session we would be doing for the Kylee Ann Workshop was a lifestyle family shoot, I got super excited. I got even MORE excited when I heard the family had five little girls. The Buckley family was so sweet and have a GORGEOUS home in Hyde Park. The huge open windows, details, and colors were so immaculate in their stunning home! The mom, Emily, runs the Cache Valley Family Magazine and loves in home family style sessions with her girls.
The session was such a blast with little girls everywhere dancing, jumping on beds, hugging each other, and giving sweet sister kisses. It was the oldest girl’s birthday that day and she turned 9 with the youngest being 10 months old. The precious two girls in the middle were twins and I could not get over the spunky personality of the second to youngest little girl. All of these sweet girls were not camera shy and loved having their picture taken. Kylee suggested that the girls dance to their favorite song and when asked what was their favorite song they all shouted Call Me Maybe!! They had the best time dancing and twirling in their Matilda Jane dresses while singing the words to it and the second to youngest even had a couple of break dance moves for it! I could not stop laughing and my cheeks hurt by the end of the session. I was so amazed how not one time any of the girls fought; not ONCE! My mind definitely was reminded of what it was like to have five little sisters. Life was busy, schedules were always filled, yes there was drama but there was also a bond and friendship that was indescribable. Yes I will never know what it will be like to have a brother but I do not regret it for one second. Girls rule boys drool was often said at my house, expect for my dad of course ;) I am so grateful I was able to be a part of this adorable family’s session and to have met all of those precious girls! I will always remember how sweet and adorable they were to each other. Day 2 of styled shoots at the Kylee Ann Sleepover was a little different than the first day because it was snowing SO hard!! There were 8 of us photographers and 5 couples for the shoot and we were all a little anxious for the snow. All of the photographers and couples were still so excited though as we headed for Denzil Stewart Park in Logan Utah. This was my first time taking pictures while it was ACTUALLY snowing and not just on the ground. The snow was up to our knees but no one seemed to complain with instead having giggles, snow ball fights, and happy couples! The fast falling snow made for a beautiful backdrop. There was a row of cute little Christmas trees that were gorgeous for pictures also! I love the winter wonderland feel and how everything pops off of the background of the white snow. The whole time I was taking pictures while falling and tripping (but of course saving my camera first; even if it meant falling all the way into the snow...;) I wish my family could have seen me. They would have been amazed and probably would have laughed at me as I made a fool of myself not being able to balance.
The moment I met Kelcie and Blake and introduced myself, I knew they were going to be so fun. Only getting 10 minutes with them, we were still able to have such a blast! Kelcie and Blake have been engaged for a couple of months and will get married this May! Thank goodness for warmer weather for their big day. They have not had their engagements done and said they were so excited to be getting lots of pictures back for them. Kelcie and Blake told me their are excited for warmer weather because it will feel like their day is getting closer and closer! Almost finishing our ten minutes there was time for a few more pictures and Blake said "Can we take some with us throwing snow at each other??" I LOVE when grooms and fiances suggest poses and I was not about to say no! I love how fun and playful Kelcie and Blake were and their giggles and smiles were definitely contagious!! Giggly couples are my FAVORITE! Their pictures end up not being posed at all and are candid real moments. I had SO much fun with Kelcie and Blake and I am so happy and excited for them as they start their journey together and their love for each other will grow more and more! I attended a workshop last weekend and it was definitely a weekend to remember!! Among learning the business side of things such as marketing, client experience, and editing at the Kylee Ann Sleepover, my favorite part would have to be the styled shoots! What a way to start off the workshop with this magical outdoor bridal session at Green Canyon! This couple's love and emotion was not staged; it was their ACTUAL first look and bridal session! Hannah and Sam are getting married in a couple of weeks and you could tell they can not wait. They were so amazing and never complained about the knee high snow and cold weather! This styled shoot was to die for and was made possible by some AMAZING vendors! The soft and moody blues made for an elegant and romantic set up that was stunning. Kylee Ann Studios styled it along with her sister Lauren who also did the announcement and calligraphy! First and Third Market was in charge of the amazing decor and candles! Freckle Farm was in charge of the incredible florals which were so so pretty! Hannah, the bride, is so beautiful naturally but with Tiffany Johnson's magic, her makeup and hair made her look and feel even more beautiful and confident. Her dress was from the Perfect Dress Bridal and it was just that- PERFECT! The off white color was beautiful and stood out so much in the snow. But we cannot forget the incredible cake though!! I was speechless when I saw the masterpiece Graceful Baker created. The detail of it was so so beautiful!
