I cannot believe what a small world we live in! If not that, I believe we meet people, are reconnected, and have people brought into our lives for a reason. I am for certain that it is not a coincidence I met this couple.
To explain, Stewart and my husband served in the same LDS mission in Lima Peru 5 years ago. Two months ago I had a winter wedding in Bountiful and one of my sweet bride's bridesmaids was Kiara. Kiara then recently messaged me asking about a photography session and I soon find out that she was married to Stewart! It gets even crazier when I found out they moved to Smithfield which is 15 minutes from Logan one month after me and my husband did this last summer and we had no idea! Once I connected the dots I was amazed and felt so lucky to have met Kiara and Stewart and help tell their story with pictures. Stewart returned from Peru from his mission, started school and started dating like any other returned missionary would. He dated a handful of girls and it got pretty serious with one particular girl. He said though soon after, he knew it was not meant to be. His heart and mind were somewhere else and he could not get out of his mind that beautiful Peruvian girl back almost a world away. He contacted Kiara and hopped on the cheapest flight he could get back to Peru. We're talking like a $300 flight (which is crazy!!) on a tiny little plane that lasted over 36 hours with lay overs. He finally got there and knew that Kiara was the woman of his dreams and he was not going to leave Peru without her. Kiara and Stewart were later married and their 3 year anniversary is coming up and they could not be a happier couple! They are about to start a journey together that is going to be hard and they will be separated for a time. Stewart is going to North Carolina for military training and will be gone for 5 whole months and Kaira will be in Peru during that time. Having these pictures done meant everything to them while they are still with each other until the end of this month. I cannot imagine how hard that goodbye would be but I know that if any couple could go through this trail of being apart, these two can definitely do it. They have been worlds apart before and they will do it again while knowing the other holds their heart. Not only are they completely still in love after 3 years, but their giggles and laughter were perfect for Valentines Day! It made my day so much better and reminded me the real meaning of the day. Not that I need to be reminded often (because HELLO this is my dream job!!) but meeting this couple has really impacted my life and reminded me WHY I do what I do. They have taught me to slow down and not take each moment you have with your loved one for granted! Location: Green Canyon Dress: Wicked Cute Botique

If this didn't get me in the mood for Valentines Day I don't know what will! This adorable lovey dovey married couple was so perfect. Jasmine and Daniel have been married for two years and are high school sweethearts! Can it get any cuter?!
This amazing styled shoot was put on by the lovely Kensey Dee Photography and was even taken in her beautiful home in Logan Utah! The amazing Graceful Baker made some yummy treats that were almost to pretty to eat! Jasmine and Daniel can attest that they tasted as good as they looked! I am officially in love with in home sessions!! I love how natural and easy Jasmine and Daniel were with each other! These kisses, cuddles, and snuggles were not staged one bit. Jasmine and Daniel were not posed at all and did their own thing. Jasmine happens to be a professional model and it was not hard to tell! She was flawless and was not camera shy at all! I could not get enough of these two and know you will enjoy as you scroll down ;) Another Katelin rocking another gorgeous Lettie Boutique dress in the snow! I LOVE how the color pops with the snowy magical background.
I could write pages about these two lovebirds! Katelin and Grant are the sweetest couple. They were my last couple I had for the session at the Kylee Ann Sleepover! I saved the best for last because they are my favorite! From beginning to end, Katelin and Grant did their own thing and were talking, laughing, and sharing sweet snowflake kisses! I loved how by the end of it, their hair and clothes were soaked with snow from being outside more than an hour in it and they did not have a care in the world. Their laughter was seriously so contagious and with couples like them, I could seriously shoot in the snow every day and it would not bother me! I have been a little homesick for that Arizona sunshine especially with forecasts showing it will be in the mid-seventies this week. It is kind of hard to remember what warmth felt like or what the color green looks like. The winter is dragging on for me especially because my husband and I share a car and he takes it to work every day. Days seems extra-long and drag out especially when me and my almost one year old are cooped up inside all day. I get so giddy and happy as I stare at my little notebook with booking of gorgeous couples and brides and count down the days till they happen. Bring on the snow because my couples make it look good ;). I am currently running a Valentine's Mini Session special for those couples that are obsessively in love and are brave enough to bare the cold! You can email me at [email protected] for more info or if you have questions! Katelin and Grant-stay just how you are because you two are perfect and you remind me why I love what I do :) Happy scrolling! My heart melts when I look back at these photos! Cassidy and Adam are newlyweds and I had SO much fun taking their pictures in the snow at Denzil Stewart Park with them! I felt so bad that poor Cassidy's hair was dripping from the snow by the end of it but she did not mind one bit! She said it was totally worth it and I have to agree! Trekking through the knee high snow was not easy but we did it! One benefit of it being cold outside is to have the excuse to have more snuggly pictures ;) I am MORE than okay with that and I was so happy Cassidy and Adam did not mind!
Poor Adam and me were in the same boat of not being used to the snow. He is from California and me being from Arizona, I totally felt his pain. We bore through it though and the magical winter wonderland the snow created was worth it! It definitely made for a picture perfect background. Again, only getting ten minutes with Cassidy and Adam, I could tell how much they care for each other. I loved that it was not said in a super obvious loud way, but rather in small moments. For example when Adam would hold Cassidy's hand and guide her through the snow, or when he would sweetly kiss the top of her forehead that was not posed. Love like that is real and does not waver. That has got me to thinking more especially since Valentine's Day is coming up. Usually we show our love to our special someone through a life size stuffed bear, balloons that could fill a room, or with enough chocolates to gain twenty pounds if eaten all at once! I am not saying there is anything wrong with this, I am just saying it is usually expected. I want to challenge everyone to think outside the box this Valentines Day (this is for me included) whether it me to stay in and make your loved one their favorite home cooked meal, have the come home to an immaculate clean house, or spend a little bit of your time and run some errands for them you know they don't have time for. Any of these or more would be amazing and I bet would surprise your loved one. Enjoy scrolling through these adorable pics as you brainstorm ideas! Thanks again Cassidy and Adam, I feel so privileged that I got to meet you! What a way to start the month of love off with an adorable couple! I seriously loved taking pictures of Caitlin and Dallin! It was so fun to have them be one of the couples at one of the shoots for Kylee Ann's Workshop. It was even more fun because Caitlin was a Kylee Ann Bride! It was so fun to see Kylee interact with them having just taken their pictures last May. These guys own the Kylee Ann Alumni title and were awesome at taking pictures!
I was so glad for the ten minutes I got to have with them because they are just so sweet to each other! If I did not know they were already married, I could have sworn these were engagement pictures. I love how the bridge at Denzil Stewart looks in the snow and am so grateful I was able to have it in my pictures with these two! Caitlin and Dallin did not mind the snow one bit! Millions of snowflakes look good on them ;) The dress Caitlin wore is SO darling! The colors and floral print was just darling. Besides being so stylish, she said it was the most comfortable dress she has ever worn! The dress was from Lettie Boutique and the sweet owner let her keep the dress after she modeled in it! I highly recommend going and checking out their site because all of their clothes are super cute!! Lettie Boutique is located in Pocatello Idaho but you can order straight from their website and get adorableness sent right to your house! It makes my heart so happy I got to meet Caitlin and Dallin and got to take some amazing pictures that captured their sweet personality so well. Thanks for enduring the snow guys, you rocked it!! This winter couple session in Logan Utah was such a dream!! The snow made things a little difficult but it sure made for a beautiful backdrop. I love how pictures in the snow literally seem to freeze time and moments. Frozen precious moments that are amazing! Lauren and Chris have this super sweet relationship and I feel so privileged to have met them and been able to help capture it! Lauren and Chris seemed like they were newlyweds and I had know idea until they told me they just celebrated their year and a half anniversary this month! So exciting! The snow did not bother these two one bit! They hardly even noticed it and as soon as we got started they quickly took of their jackets and were ready to go. I felt so bad and said, "Are you sure you don't want your jackets on?!" And Lauren and Chris both said, "Nope, we are good!" It helps that they are both from Utah and used to the cold! I felt like such a desert sun loving sissy being in the cold snowy weather. Maybe one of these days I will get used to it as I wake up every morning and wonder what the white stuff is outside!! I loved how giggly and happy these two were around each other. Brian was so sweet and gentle with Lauren and it was not hard to tell his love for her. Lauren and Chris were willing to do whatever I said and were super relaxed and comfortable while we were taking pictures. I hope all of my brides come back to me if that are able to have anniversary sessions and still look at each other like these two do. :) Happy official first day of winter!! :) It has been winter a while here in Utah, but all the same, it is officially winter! I have yet to take pictures when it is actually snowing but while those pictures are gorgeous, I prefer the sun to be out while still having snow on the ground! Kahaia contacted me a week or so ago asking if I could do some anniversary pictures. Kahaia is also a photographer here in Logan; you can check out her work here! :) We have been messaging back and forth about Photography through Facebook and it was so fun to finally meet each other in person!
Kahaia and Jesse celebrated their one year anniversary two days ago on Monday! It was so neat because my and my husband's two year anniversary was just the next day. Two couples must think alike because they were heading do to Salt Lake right after the session to go to Cheesecake Factory for dinner and look at SLC temple lights. My husband and I just did the same thing two days before for our early anniversary! We headed up Logan Canyon to a spot Kahaia liked and I am so glad she picked it because it was gorgeous! It was super open and beautiful with amazing trees in the background. Like I said, yay for sun with still having some snow ;) That has got to be my favorite! The type of lens I use does not zoom on its own so I become the zoom. That consisted of me hurrying forward and backward while the snow was mid-calf deep and was super hard. I would step and would delay sinking down because the snow was so hard and compacted. I must have looked pretty ridiculous from people driving by on the road nearby ;) Kahaia and Jesse were seriously the sweetest couple ever! They were so patient with me because I was shooting on a different camera than I normally do and was not familiar with the settings or how to change them! I am so glad I got it figured out because their pictures turned out so amazing! These two lovebirds were not hard to pose and eventually just did their own thing which I love! Congrats again guys! You made it through the toughest part of marriage according to most people! |
