We ditched the snow and cold and I am SO glad we did because these indoor pictures are my favorite! Ashleigh and Tyler were all for avoiding pictures outside and doing them instead the gorgeous Photo Loft at the Roolee Boutique in Logan Utah. If you haven't been to their clothing store in Logan, it is definitely a must!! Super cute clothes, accessories, and even home decor.
I can hear and remember the laughter from these two's engagement session as I look back at these pictures. The joy and pure love they have for each other showed through their smiles. Ashleigh was so adorable when I complemented on her makeup she said she hardly ever wears it and this was a ton for her! She looks even more beautiful than she is already! I definitely recommend that all my couples get their hair and makeup done professionally for a number of reasons. First so you don't have to worry about it and stress about doing it yourself. Secondly, it will make you feel even more beautiful and confident during your session. And lastly, having your hair and makeup done professionally will make you love your pictures even more! When I have pictures taken of me, even if they are amazing, if I didn't FEEL amazing or FEEL confident, I look back at the pictures and am not in love with them. You only have one engagement session, one bridals session, and one wedding day. After it is all said and done, all you have left is the pictures. So why not help insure that you will love your pictures that much more! Ashleigh and Tyler have known each other for years as they to the same school since Junior High and being next door neighbors. Their horses' pastures were right next to each other and they would bump into each other often and would go on rides together. They got engaged last October and are getting married in June! While Ashleigh lives in Clearfield while Tyler lives in Nevada, Tyler drives to come to see Ashleigh about every two weeks so they can spend time together. They love to spend time outdoors but especially if its riding horses together. I am so incredibly happy for these two and cannot wait for their wedding day!

Rebecca and Taylor had their eyes on each other before they had even met. Their story starts back in the fall of 2014 at Snow College in Ephraim. They lived right across from each other and knew who each other was but hadn't officially met yet. True Badger night came along where there is a dance and at the end everyone meets outside by the bell tower and kisses someone at midnight. Rebecca say Taylor and got excited when he wasn't with anyone but was a little shy to go ask him to kiss her. She had her friend be the middle man and he said yes and their kiss at midnight was how they officially met and was the start of something special.
This fairy tale Cinderella-like story didn't end as clique or fast as you would think. Rebecca and Taylor then became good friends and did not even go on a date until that next fall in 2015 that Taylor asked her out to basically catch up. Their friendship would not become anything more until that next spring of 2016 when their paths started to cross more and they were talking more and more. One night they went up in the canyon to a spot that overlooks Ephraim and they just sat up there and talked for hours. There was that spark that was undeniably there and they both agreed that night they wanted to date exclusively with each other. Rebecca soon found herself falling in love with Taylor and knew that she wanted to be with him the rest of her life. They dated for 10 months and made it official just this last month! "| walked into my parent's house (because we were visiting them for the weekend) and there was music playing and rose petals on the floor leading out to the deck! The deck was decorated with Christmas lights and flowers and pictures of him and I .There was also tea light candles on the deck floor and then he gave a cute speech about how much he loves me among other these super sweet things, then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him." How sweet is that?! It was not hard to tell at their engagement session that these two are best friends. Rebecca and Taylor came all the way from Cedar City to Logan for their session in the canyon and loved being able to take a road trip together! I am so excited for their wedding in April and could not be happier for them!! I cannot believe what a small world we live in! If not that, I believe we meet people, are reconnected, and have people brought into our lives for a reason. I am for certain that it is not a coincidence I met this couple.
To explain, Stewart and my husband served in the same LDS mission in Lima Peru 5 years ago. Two months ago I had a winter wedding in Bountiful and one of my sweet bride's bridesmaids was Kiara. Kiara then recently messaged me asking about a photography session and I soon find out that she was married to Stewart! It gets even crazier when I found out they moved to Smithfield which is 15 minutes from Logan one month after me and my husband did this last summer and we had no idea! Once I connected the dots I was amazed and felt so lucky to have met Kiara and Stewart and help tell their story with pictures. Stewart returned from Peru from his mission, started school and started dating like any other returned missionary would. He dated a handful of girls and it got pretty serious with one particular girl. He said though soon after, he knew it was not meant to be. His heart and mind were somewhere else and he could not get out of his mind that beautiful Peruvian girl back almost a world away. He contacted Kiara and hopped on the cheapest flight he could get back to Peru. We're talking like a $300 flight (which is crazy!!) on a tiny little plane that lasted over 36 hours with lay overs. He finally got there and knew that Kiara was the woman of his dreams and he was not going to leave Peru without her. Kiara and Stewart were later married and their 3 year anniversary is coming up and they could not be a happier couple! They are about to start a journey together that is going to be hard and they will be separated for a time. Stewart is going to North Carolina for military training and will be gone for 5 whole months and Kaira will be in Peru during that time. Having these pictures done meant everything to them while they are still with each other until the end of this month. I cannot imagine how hard that goodbye would be but I know that if any couple could go through this trail of being apart, these two can definitely do it. They have been worlds apart before and they will do it again while knowing the other holds their heart. Not only are they completely still in love after 3 years, but their giggles and laughter were perfect for Valentines Day! It made my day so much better and reminded me the real meaning of the day. Not that I need to be reminded often (because HELLO this is my dream job!!) but meeting this couple has really impacted my life and reminded me WHY I do what I do. They have taught me to slow down and not take each moment you have with your loved one for granted! Location: Green Canyon Dress: Wicked Cute Botique Oh my goodness! What a treat it was to take pictures of this sweet couple yesterday so close to Valentines Day! Cheyenne is in the military and is only in Logan for the week so I am so glad it worked out to do their session while he was here. He is stationed in Alaska right now and that is actually where him and Kimber met while she went there during the summer to work. These two have been dating ever since and are could not be more in love! They said having a long distance relationship has been so rough but it is so worth it when they get to spend time with each other. They have not seen each other in over three months! That is half of the time they have been dating. Wow, what these two have is seriously so real and genuine.
I have met and been able to capture a handful of couples that have or had long distance relationships. It has opened my eyes to what love really is and more in depth of what true love is. I am amazed at the couples that endure this for months and even years just because they love their significant other that much and cannot imagine their world without them. It is seriously so sweet. The weather does not really know quite what to do I realized when I was shocked to see green grass at our location! It has been bright and sunny lately which is amazing but still in the low thirties. I have basically gone on strike and have been wearing flip flops and no jacket not really caring. Maybe the weather will change its mind if I keep pretending its spring and being jealous of my 80 degree weather back home in Arizona. Cheyenne was loving the mid thirties while we were taking pictures because he said yesterday in Alaska it was NEGATIVE forty-five degrees. Holy cow I could not believe that when he told me. I have been so excited to brag about these two and show off their pictures because Kimber and Cheyenne are just the sweetest couple. I am so glad I was able to meet them and have THEM impact my life for the good by showing me what true love is! If this didn't get me in the mood for Valentines Day I don't know what will! This adorable lovey dovey married couple was so perfect. Jasmine and Daniel have been married for two years and are high school sweethearts! Can it get any cuter?!
This amazing styled shoot was put on by the lovely Kensey Dee Photography and was even taken in her beautiful home in Logan Utah! The amazing Graceful Baker made some yummy treats that were almost to pretty to eat! Jasmine and Daniel can attest that they tasted as good as they looked! I am officially in love with in home sessions!! I love how natural and easy Jasmine and Daniel were with each other! These kisses, cuddles, and snuggles were not staged one bit. Jasmine and Daniel were not posed at all and did their own thing. Jasmine happens to be a professional model and it was not hard to tell! She was flawless and was not camera shy at all! I could not get enough of these two and know you will enjoy as you scroll down ;) Taylor and Matt’s relationship started last summer back when they both life guarded at the same swimming pool. They became friends and had an interest in each other but did not think much of it when the summer days came to an end and they both parted ways to head back to school. Little did they know that was not the last time they would see one another.
Taylor and Matt reconnected at Brigham Young University in Utah and not much long after, they knew they wanted to be with each other forever. They made it official a week before Christmas Eve when the day started out with both of them doing a Christmas service project. After it, Matt then surprised Taylor by taking her out to her favorite restaurant in downtown Salt Lake City. Matt then proposed after outside the restaurant with Christmas lights twinkling everywhere. They are getting married later next month and could not be more excited! With Taylor and Matt getting married in the spring, we tried to get out of the snow and Taylor wanted to have one of their locations for their engagements look like spring. I was so excited when she suggested that because I love taking pictures at Cactus and Tropicals in Draper. The atmosphere, bright flowers, beautiful greenery, and gorgeous light were so perfect! Taylor and Matt agreed with me that they were tired of snow and were glad to see flowers and green trees! It was so beautiful and I had almost forgot what the color green looked like! It ended up being such a beautiful day and the weather got up to the high forties which was something I have not felt in months! We ended with taking pictures on a rooftop in downtown Salt Lake and the view was gorgeous!! I loved how sweet Taylor and Matt were with each other and how easy and natural they were with pictures! I loved how Matt had tons of input and both he and Taylor started making up poses themselves because they were such pros! I cannot wait for their wedding day and fingers crossed the snow is gone and the weather stays this nice! Enjoy ;) Another Katelin rocking another gorgeous Lettie Boutique dress in the snow! I LOVE how the color pops with the snowy magical background.
I could write pages about these two lovebirds! Katelin and Grant are the sweetest couple. They were my last couple I had for the session at the Kylee Ann Sleepover! I saved the best for last because they are my favorite! From beginning to end, Katelin and Grant did their own thing and were talking, laughing, and sharing sweet snowflake kisses! I loved how by the end of it, their hair and clothes were soaked with snow from being outside more than an hour in it and they did not have a care in the world. Their laughter was seriously so contagious and with couples like them, I could seriously shoot in the snow every day and it would not bother me! I have been a little homesick for that Arizona sunshine especially with forecasts showing it will be in the mid-seventies this week. It is kind of hard to remember what warmth felt like or what the color green looks like. The winter is dragging on for me especially because my husband and I share a car and he takes it to work every day. Days seems extra-long and drag out especially when me and my almost one year old are cooped up inside all day. I get so giddy and happy as I stare at my little notebook with booking of gorgeous couples and brides and count down the days till they happen. Bring on the snow because my couples make it look good ;). I am currently running a Valentine's Mini Session special for those couples that are obsessively in love and are brave enough to bare the cold! You can email me at [email protected] for more info or if you have questions! Katelin and Grant-stay just how you are because you two are perfect and you remind me why I love what I do :) Happy scrolling! My heart melts when I look back at these photos! Cassidy and Adam are newlyweds and I had SO much fun taking their pictures in the snow at Denzil Stewart Park with them! I felt so bad that poor Cassidy's hair was dripping from the snow by the end of it but she did not mind one bit! She said it was totally worth it and I have to agree! Trekking through the knee high snow was not easy but we did it! One benefit of it being cold outside is to have the excuse to have more snuggly pictures ;) I am MORE than okay with that and I was so happy Cassidy and Adam did not mind!
Poor Adam and me were in the same boat of not being used to the snow. He is from California and me being from Arizona, I totally felt his pain. We bore through it though and the magical winter wonderland the snow created was worth it! It definitely made for a picture perfect background. Again, only getting ten minutes with Cassidy and Adam, I could tell how much they care for each other. I loved that it was not said in a super obvious loud way, but rather in small moments. For example when Adam would hold Cassidy's hand and guide her through the snow, or when he would sweetly kiss the top of her forehead that was not posed. Love like that is real and does not waver. That has got me to thinking more especially since Valentine's Day is coming up. Usually we show our love to our special someone through a life size stuffed bear, balloons that could fill a room, or with enough chocolates to gain twenty pounds if eaten all at once! I am not saying there is anything wrong with this, I am just saying it is usually expected. I want to challenge everyone to think outside the box this Valentines Day (this is for me included) whether it me to stay in and make your loved one their favorite home cooked meal, have the come home to an immaculate clean house, or spend a little bit of your time and run some errands for them you know they don't have time for. Any of these or more would be amazing and I bet would surprise your loved one. Enjoy scrolling through these adorable pics as you brainstorm ideas! Thanks again Cassidy and Adam, I feel so privileged that I got to meet you! What a way to start the month of love off with an adorable couple! I seriously loved taking pictures of Caitlin and Dallin! It was so fun to have them be one of the couples at one of the shoots for Kylee Ann's Workshop. It was even more fun because Caitlin was a Kylee Ann Bride! It was so fun to see Kylee interact with them having just taken their pictures last May. These guys own the Kylee Ann Alumni title and were awesome at taking pictures!
I was so glad for the ten minutes I got to have with them because they are just so sweet to each other! If I did not know they were already married, I could have sworn these were engagement pictures. I love how the bridge at Denzil Stewart looks in the snow and am so grateful I was able to have it in my pictures with these two! Caitlin and Dallin did not mind the snow one bit! Millions of snowflakes look good on them ;) The dress Caitlin wore is SO darling! The colors and floral print was just darling. Besides being so stylish, she said it was the most comfortable dress she has ever worn! The dress was from Lettie Boutique and the sweet owner let her keep the dress after she modeled in it! I highly recommend going and checking out their site because all of their clothes are super cute!! Lettie Boutique is located in Pocatello Idaho but you can order straight from their website and get adorableness sent right to your house! It makes my heart so happy I got to meet Caitlin and Dallin and got to take some amazing pictures that captured their sweet personality so well. Thanks for enduring the snow guys, you rocked it!! "You are my today and all of my tomorrows." -Leo Christopher
This winter couple session in Logan Utah was such a dream!! The snow made things a little difficult but it sure made for a beautiful backdrop. I love how pictures in the snow literally seem to freeze time and moments. Frozen precious moments that are amazing! Lauren and Chris have this super sweet relationship and I feel so privileged to have met them and been able to help capture it! Lauren and Chris seemed like they were newlyweds and I had know idea until they told me they just celebrated their year and a half anniversary this month! So exciting! The snow did not bother these two one bit! They hardly even noticed it and as soon as we got started they quickly took of their jackets and were ready to go. I felt so bad and said, "Are you sure you don't want your jackets on?!" And Lauren and Chris both said, "Nope, we are good!" It helps that they are both from Utah and used to the cold! I felt like such a desert sun loving sissy being in the cold snowy weather. Maybe one of these days I will get used to it as I wake up every morning and wonder what the white stuff is outside!! I loved how giggly and happy these two were around each other. Brian was so sweet and gentle with Lauren and it was not hard to tell his love for her. Lauren and Chris were willing to do whatever I said and were super relaxed and comfortable while we were taking pictures. I hope all of my brides come back to me if that are able to have anniversary sessions and still look at each other like these two do. :) I have been dying to share this couple's adorable love story and pictures! Mayra and me had planned their engagement session for quite some time and we both had our fingers crossed for good weather! Thank goodness it was not snowing, but we all did still freeze with the temperature was 16 degrees and dropping during the session. Mayra's wanted pretty trees with snow which it is a good thing it is not too hard to come by in Logan Utah! I love how their pictures turned out and I smile so big while looking back at them!!
I had so much fun with Mayra and Mauricio during their engagement session. Their sweet smiles and giggles made the cold bearable and they hardly minded it! Mayra and Mauricio both live in Richmond Utah but their story starts almost worlds apart while Mauricio lived in Chile and Mayra lived in Mexico. For college, Mauricio came to Utah State University because his uncle taught there and went through the English program. Meanwhile Mayra was attending Brigham Young University in Provo. Their paths crossed when they both joined a Latin dance group that traveled where they met and the rest is history! Mayra and Mauricio dated for one year and recently got engaged the weekend of last Thanksgiving. It was not hard to tell their excitement to get married to each other. They are getting married at the end of March and I am also counting down the days because I cannot wait to be apart of their special day! Day 2 of styled shoots at the Kylee Ann Sleepover was a little different than the first day because it was snowing SO hard!! There were 8 of us photographers and 5 couples for the shoot and we were all a little anxious for the snow. All of the photographers and couples were still so excited though as we headed for Denzil Stewart Park in Logan Utah. This was my first time taking pictures while it was ACTUALLY snowing and not just on the ground. The snow was up to our knees but no one seemed to complain with instead having giggles, snow ball fights, and happy couples! The fast falling snow made for a beautiful backdrop. There was a row of cute little Christmas trees that were gorgeous for pictures also! I love the winter wonderland feel and how everything pops off of the background of the white snow. The whole time I was taking pictures while falling and tripping (but of course saving my camera first; even if it meant falling all the way into the snow...;) I wish my family could have seen me. They would have been amazed and probably would have laughed at me as I made a fool of myself not being able to balance.
The moment I met Kelcie and Blake and introduced myself, I knew they were going to be so fun. Only getting 10 minutes with them, we were still able to have such a blast! Kelcie and Blake have been engaged for a couple of months and will get married this May! Thank goodness for warmer weather for their big day. They have not had their engagements done and said they were so excited to be getting lots of pictures back for them. Kelcie and Blake told me their are excited for warmer weather because it will feel like their day is getting closer and closer! Almost finishing our ten minutes there was time for a few more pictures and Blake said "Can we take some with us throwing snow at each other??" I LOVE when grooms and fiances suggest poses and I was not about to say no! I love how fun and playful Kelcie and Blake were and their giggles and smiles were definitely contagious!! Giggly couples are my FAVORITE! Their pictures end up not being posed at all and are candid real moments. I had SO much fun with Kelcie and Blake and I am so happy and excited for them as they start their journey together and their love for each other will grow more and more! These two cuties celebrated their six month anniversary just last month! Time was definitely not in our favor as Cesillia and I have been trying to plan a session for her and her hubby! Anything that could have come up happened! Then to top it off, on New Year's Day, Cesillia's phone broke and she was not able to get a hold of me.
Finally after her phone got fixed, she got super sick! Poor Cesilia was not been feeling good but after rescheduling and her getting some rest she was feeling much better and was so excited for pictures. The email I received from Cesilia was so adorable when she said "I am one of those cheesy newlyweds that want pictures of our first year of marriage from every season". How cute!! I was SO happy to be able to meet them and capture their sweet moments. These two giggled practically the entire time and it was so contagious! Manny kept making her laugh nonstop the entire time but that every time she laughed it would also make her cough. This poor girl was such a trooper in freezing temperatures getting over her cold and was all smiles and giggles. Immediately when they would look at each other as they would gaze into each other's eyes, you could tell their love for each other was real. Manny and Cesilia were not bothered by the cold one bit- I am talking about below freezing temperatures!! It also helped that both of them were born and raised in Logan and they are used to this weather. When they asked where I was from and when I said Arizona they both had confused looks. "Why would you ever move away?!" they asked. I actually get that a LOT and it surprises people that I am not minding the snow too much! Happy official first day of winter!! :) It has been winter a while here in Utah, but all the same, it is officially winter! I have yet to take pictures when it is actually snowing but while those pictures are gorgeous, I prefer the sun to be out while still having snow on the ground! Kahaia contacted me a week or so ago asking if I could do some anniversary pictures. Kahaia is also a photographer here in Logan; you can check out her work here! :) We have been messaging back and forth about Photography through Facebook and it was so fun to finally meet each other in person!
Kahaia and Jesse celebrated their one year anniversary two days ago on Monday! It was so neat because my and my husband's two year anniversary was just the next day. Two couples must think alike because they were heading do to Salt Lake right after the session to go to Cheesecake Factory for dinner and look at SLC temple lights. My husband and I just did the same thing two days before for our early anniversary! We headed up Logan Canyon to a spot Kahaia liked and I am so glad she picked it because it was gorgeous! It was super open and beautiful with amazing trees in the background. Like I said, yay for sun with still having some snow ;) That has got to be my favorite! The type of lens I use does not zoom on its own so I become the zoom. That consisted of me hurrying forward and backward while the snow was mid-calf deep and was super hard. I would step and would delay sinking down because the snow was so hard and compacted. I must have looked pretty ridiculous from people driving by on the road nearby ;) Kahaia and Jesse were seriously the sweetest couple ever! They were so patient with me because I was shooting on a different camera than I normally do and was not familiar with the settings or how to change them! I am so glad I got it figured out because their pictures turned out so amazing! These two lovebirds were not hard to pose and eventually just did their own thing which I love! Congrats again guys! You made it through the toughest part of marriage according to most people! I have been beyond excited for this session! Sydnee and Landon are SUCH a gorgeous couple and are so cute together! It was so nice to see familiar faces from back home in Arizona and be able to catch up with them! They were so awesome to be willing to model for me and do a session while we were in Salt Lake to look at the Salt Lake City Temple Lights.
Sydnee and Landon got married just a couple of months after Sean and me and will be celebrating their two years of marriage this February. This was my first shoot in pretty cold weather, and I just about died. This Arizona girl just about froze her hinny off. It started snowing at the beginning of the shoot even though it was supposed to be sunny, cold but sunny. Crazy Utah weather I guess I am just not used to. Sydnee and Land were such troopers and the cold did not even phase them. I probably looked ridiculous shivering in my puffy marshmallow looking winter coat. I was excited and a little nervous to shoot at Memory Grove Park in Salt Lake having never been there before. When I got there though I knew it was perfect and such a gorgeous place. I got super excited when I saw there was still fall color there and we were able to get some snow. I LOVE ivy walls and was so happy when I saw one there! I loved that the Utah Capitol Building was right next to the park! I had never been there either and was so glad we were able to take some pictures there. It was amazed how breath taking how big and magnificent it was. Even though I was freezing my buns off, I had such an amazing time with these two! Thank you so much again guys! You were amazing! I have been so stoked to share this GORGEOUS winter session! Yes, summer went quickly to winter as I returned to Logan Utah and it was back to the grind! I am not going to lie, I LOVED beautiful sunny Thatcher Arizona, but it was surprisingly refreshing to come back to the snow and the cold. It is so crazy in a matter of just six months, Utah has become my new home with my little family. My favorite part of the drive is coming down the canyon and having it open up to beautiful Cache Valley.
I was so glad it had snowed the day before because all of the snow had melted before! Pine trees are my favorite and I love that they are not hard to find in Logan or not far up the canyon! Let's talk about these two cuties because they ROCKED their session! Before I say anything, this is NOT an engagement session; sorry for all of Natasha and Matt's family that just got disappointed ;) Natasha and Matt are still just dating and enjoying their lives together and will be celebrating their one year anniversary next month! Natasha and Matt brought their little furry baby which made me so happy! I say "little" but their German Shepard was huge, but a softy! His name is Hulk and it seriously fit him! Like I said though, he was a big cuddle bear and was the nicest dog! He did so good and was perfectly calm during his part of the session! I seriously did not have to tell what Natasha and Matt what to do. At times I would not even say a word and would just be firing away getting the most adorable real candid shots that are my favorite to capture!! I love relaxed candid posing because that means I am taking pictures of PEOPLE and not POSES. Pinterest is my favorite but trying to copy EVERY pose from a saved board (Like I know we all do, I sure did for my engagements ;) keeps from there being creativity and originality with the session. I seriously loved how these pictures turned out! Thanks so much again guys for letting me capture this magical session!! I have been DYING to blow up my blog and social media with this gorgeous couple's pictures!! You might be thinking I made a mistake and these pictures are from months ago and I just forgot to post them. I promise you these are from last week!! This is what December in sunny Thatcher Arizona looks like while having weather in the mid-sixties ;) I could not believe my eyes when we met at the River and I saw green and hints of oranges and yellows! I am so happy I got to capture it before "winter" comes and the color goes away there. Mitch and Heather were so amazing to help me out and be models for a mock engagement session. I did a mentoring session for my good friend and for the last half we took pictures of these two and had such a blast! I have known Mitch and Heather for years and even went to high school with them in Thatcher. They were a few years older than me and I graduated with Mitch's little brother. I was so happy when I found out they got engaged because they are so perfect together!! Seriously some of the sweetest people I have ever met! It was so fun because they ended up getting married a couple of weeks after Sean and I. They will have been married two years next month but you would think they were newlyweds being around them! Mitch and Heather kind of looked at me funny when I told them that and I reassured them that was a good thing!! I LOVE when couples are obsessed with each other and the look they have in their eyes for each other is priceless; you cannot tell someone to do that while taking pictures, it just is so natural. Mitch is wanting to go into his dad practice of being a chiropractic and will be going to a trade school for it in the next couple of years and Heather is wanting to go into nutrition. They don't exactly know what the future will hold for them but they said they will figure it out together! :) Thanks so much again guys!! You guys are so perfect!! I am so lucky and privileged to have met this couple! Jorri and Carlos won a gift certificate at a community event where they lived that I had donated to and it is only by luck that we met! We met at a park in Logan and got started and had some great fun along the way. They were the sweetest couple and their personalities shinned during the session.
I ADORE the moment when clients are able to come out of their shell and you can see their true self and how much they love one another. I also love getting to know my clients a little before the session and in between walking to the next location and these two have an amazing story how they met! To make sure I got it perfect, Jorri was more than happy to share their story with me :) - "Carlos and I met way back when I had the chance to go on a humanitarian trip to Guatemala in high school and he was helping our group out with translation. I liked him a lot right away and was pretty pleased when he kept talking to me after I got home! We stayed in touch over the next few years as he served a mission and I went through my first year of college. The best birthday present I ever got was when he and my mom coordinated a surprise visit for my 20th birthday. He showed up at the Christmas lights at Temple Square and the rest is history! We went through a lot of struggles together figuring out how to make things work when we were countries apart, but in March of 2015 we finally got married in the Brigham City Temple. We currently live in Aggie Village on the campus of Utah State University and we love it! I'm working as a social worker for the state and Carlos is finishing his degree in computer science while working as a programmer. We aren't really sure where life will take us next but we're excited to figure it out together!" How adorable is that?! That would be so hard to have a long distance relationship THAT far away! Even though they were basically worlds apart, their hearts were still with each other. I am SO glad I got to meet and work with this tender couple and I wish them the best for their future! Yay for fall air and snuggling with blankets! Tanner and Meranda were not hesitant to snuggle and be cuddly during their session and it was the perfect weather to do it! A nice overcast cool day at the Logan River Walk could not have been any better!
I have been dying to do these two cuties photo session for weeks because they are MODELS! Tanner and Miranda are our neighbors and it has been so fun to get to know them! A couple of weeks before their session Tanner asked with a worried if he would have to shave his beard. I laughed and said no and he breathed a sigh of relief. I know how guys can get about their facial hair, my husband definitely being one of them. It is like the equivalent of asking a cowboy to take off his cowboy hat for pictures. Woah there...you just do not do some things and that is one ;) Tanner and Meranda's story starts in high school, yes, high school sweethearts are my favorite! To make sure I got it right I wanted Meranda to tell me word for word so this is what she said, "Tanner had a crush on me for a long time and I had no idea! I always looked at him more as a friend because one of my friends LOVED Tanner. Well Tanner asked me out on a date that was supposed to be a group date and everyone else couldn't find dates so it was just us. We went to a corn maze and got to know each other. It was honestly the best date I have ever been on. Something just felt different. This was our junior year. I ended up asking Tanner to the Sweethearts Dance. After that everything just fell into place. We became best friends before we made anything official and I think that is why we are so close today. Tanner was sooooo scared to hold my hand, kiss me or hug me! It was the cutest thing! Tanner asked me to be his girlfriend with a rose in the high school parking lot on December 7! We didn't have our first kiss tell midnight on New Year's Eve. I went away to college at SUU for my freshman year so we were doing the long distance thing for a while. Valentines came around and I was completely oblivious of everything. Tanner took me up to Mantua Campground to have a picnic, we danced, ate dinner and where he proposed. We got married June 20, 2015 in the Salt Lake Temple. I am now preparing to apply to Dental Hygiene school and Tanner is working towards becoming a pharmacist. We love camping, watching movies, hiking and spending time together. We are those people that set up Christmas at the beginning of November. We plan to eventually have children when we are done with school and start a family!" How cute is that?! I would have left something out so I am so glad she was able to tell me their story in detail. I am so glad I have gotten to know these two and they ROCKED their session! Thanks again guys! Moniek and I have been planning this session for about six weeks and making this session happen was definitely a challenge! Schedules with work and school are always hard to plan around but mostly the stinking weather was not in our favor with two Saturdays in a row it POURED rain. The outcome of the session was definitely worth the wait though!! Rhett and Moniek were dressed for success and ROCKED their session! We first took a couple of pictures with their adorable dogs Penny and Abbie. They were so cute and waited patiently while Rhett and Moniek finished the rest of their session. Their story starts with city girl meets small town boy; Rhett and Moniek met at Eastern Arizona College in Thatcher AZ from their friends Alex and Dalton. Recognize those names?? I was able to take help announce their new addition coming to their family April 2017. If you missed their session on the blog, you can view it here! A way cool thing about Moniek is her family is from Holland and her and Rhett have since been able to go back and visit there together! Rhett and Moniek dated for almost a year before they sealed the deal. They were married December 20th and will soon be celebrating their three year anniversary! I will always remember that date because it it also MY anniversary with my husband, just a year apart to the exact day. My husband and I met Rhett and Moniek back in Thatcher when we were in the same marriage class in college. I am so glad we got to meet them and have become friends since then. It is the best feeling to have friends from the same hometown when you are fifteen hours away from it. Rhett is going to school and is in Utah State University's Engineering Program and Moniek works at the Perfect 10 salon here in Logan. If you're needing a new hairstyle, color, highlights, or eye lash fills, she is your girl!! I am SO glad this session finally worked out because magic was made. Rhett and Moniek were so relaxed and patient and did whatever I asked, even if it felt a little different at first. Thanks again guys!! First session with a dog=success!! I swear this dog acted better than kids do during family pictures! It was the funniest thing! I was lucky enough to go along with MarLyn Hill on her mini sessions a couple of weeks ago and the color was perfect at Green Canyon. I am so glad I got to meet her and work with her couples because she is the sweetest human being.
I am sad to say the color is not there anymore and winter is around the corner. We can still dream fall is here so I hope you do not mind the pics ;) It was so funny trying to pose Natalie and Ryan and first with their adorable dog Izzy. Jokingly Ryan would hold up Izzy like you would with a baby for a family photo. He and Natalie thought it was the funniest thing and could not stop laughing. Their giggles were definitely contagious and we all could not stop laughing. Like I said, Izzy was so well behaved and waited patiently while Natalie and Ryan were able to take picture together. When it was time for her turn to be in the pictures, she stood still and would "pose" looking straight up at the camera. It could not have been more perfect! The light was starting to fade fast though and me and MarLyn were talking about having to turn up our ISO on our cameras (I will not bore you with what that means haha) and Ryan piped up commenting on it also. Ryan is a videographer and knows all about the settings and functions of a camera which became a little more pressure because he knew exactly what we were doing ;) It was a good challenge though, and it made for good conversation! I had a blast with these happy people and am so grateful to have had the opportunity to meet them all and be a part of their family pictures! When I hear the names Adam and Mindy, I immediately grin from ear to ear. I cannot help by doing the same while also looking at their pictures. Pose Giggle Laugh Repeat. These two were pros at it ;) This session was special because we went back to where it all started for their session- where Adam proposed! Past Green Canyon there is a medium sized cave up in the canyon we hiked up to get to the exact spot these two cuties got engaged. I definitely got my exercise and did not prepare myself for walking on a tiny rocky trail very high up off the ground. Having no sense of balance and being afraid of heights did not help me at all but I did not look down and hurried up the canyon. The view was breathtaking and made it all worth it though. Adam and Mindy had not been up there since they got engaged so it was way neat to be up there with them.
The cutest part of the story is Adam did not end up proposing with a ring. Weeks before he had asked Mindy if there was anything she would not be able to ever say no to and she said peanut butter M&Ms. True story- Adam proposed with M&Ms and Mindy of course said yes!! They went straight to Wal-Mart that night and picked out a ring to make it official until they ordered the actual ring and waited for it to come in. These love birds have been married a little over a year now and could not be happier! Adam and Mindy are our next door neighbors and we have a lot of fun when we hang out! The craziest thing was when we first met we found out both of our husbands went to the same mission for the LDS church! The SAME day my husband Sean left, Adam came in! They could talk about Lima Peru for hours and they do sometimes ;) These two make our lives happier and I am so glad to know them! This may be the most excited I have ever been to share a blog post!! Which is not saying much because I am always excited to share pictures, but I really love how these turned out and cannot wait to deliver them all to the couple! Calli and Matt have been engaged for a couple of months now but were so willing when I asked them if they model for me at a new location in downtown Logan I wanted to try out and were happy to do it! I am in LOVE with his ivy wall and had an amazing time taking these pictures! These two were so happy and giggly, I hardly had to tell them what to do. I am all about the natural and comfortable poses that don't force anything! I love seeing what couples naturally do and try to sneak in a few pictures when the couple is in their own little world. Calli is also a photographer and recently took some in home lifestyle pictures of me and my family that I loved! We have been messaging back and forth through Facebook and decided it was time to finally meet in person! And what better way than to take pictures of each other?! Calli and Matt are getting married this December three days before my two year anniversary! It is a cold month to get married but its the best way to seal the deal after finding summer love with your best friend :) When I got married in Arizona it was cold to me but it was 30 degrees out; I cannot imagine how cold it is going to be for these two!! Fingers crossed there's not a huge snow storm! I asked Calli and Matt how wedding planning was going because I know how stressful it can be!! They laughed and replied that they are at the point they do not really care what happens that day as long as they get married! I totally know how they feel and me and my husband were at that point about the same time they were! We were just ready to get married and done with the other "fluff" that goes on! I wish these two all the happiness in the world as they start this new journey together and cannot wait to see pictures of them on their special day!
Crazy story- So I had to amazing opportunity second shoot with MarLyn Goodrich Hill for her fall minis and it was so fun! We drove up together to Green Canyon and I get out of the car and its Sarah and Grant! These two were the gorgeous models of a styled bridal shoot put on by Miss E Photography a couple of months back; so crazy! It was so awesome to see some familiar faces and be a part of taking their pictures once again! Sarah had cut her hair since I had seen her last and I LOVE it!! These two were as cute as ever and you would think they were newly weds with how in love they were. Sarah and Grant have been married for a little over a year and a half and are getting ready to move wherever Grant's job takes them either in Kansas or Minnesota. They are both from Utah and are ready for the next chapter of their lives to begin. Most of you know me and my husband moved to Logan with our baby boy three months ago. It was a huge leap of faith as we both left our hometown where we grew up in back in Thatcher Arizona about fourteen hours away from Logan. It was really hard to leave our families and friends along with all of the memories made there. I had grown up and lived in Thatcher for over 10 years and my husband was born and raised there for his whole 25 years of life. That is where we met, started dating, got engaged and married, lived in our first home in a crappy trailer, found out we were expecting and where we became parents and grew stronger while being in the hospital for three months with our little miracle Boston. We are so grateful for all of those memories, but it was time to plant our roots somewhere else, make new memories, and be on our own while relying on only each other. We love Logan so far and it already feels like home. I breath a sigh of relief every time I am coming back from a photo shoot and see the canyon open up and view all of Cache Valley and know I am home. Let's see how I feel when it is the dead middle of winter and I am freezing and am wanting that Arizona "winter" where it might get to the 30s ;)
When I think of Ashley and Jaden, I think of genuine smiles and laughter. You could tell these two are best friends and so in love! Ashley and Jaden are in the midst of planning their big day in Logan Utah for next summer and could not be more excited. They are planning on doing a lot of it themselves and are saving up which I think is a smart thing to do. My wedding consisted of lots of Pinterest DIY ideas that finally came to life and I loved how it turned out. Pinterest will be your best friend for wedding ideas!!
The lighting of the session became magical as the clouds covered the sun and became soft and intimate. Perfect for great pictures!! I love when two people in love are so comfortable with each other, and that is exactly how these two were. I was so happy when Jackie Siggard of Jackie Siggard Photography let me come along and capture some priceless moments of these two I will never forget. A year will come quicker than you know it guys! So ecstatic for these two lovers! |
